14. Netherlands – 81.9 Years
The Better Life Index ranks The Netherlands above average in most of the elements such as education, jobs and earnings, skills, environmental quality, health, housing, and personal safety. However, the country is falling behind in terms of life expectancy compared to other European regions. One possible reason is the increased smoking habit in the country, which contributes to various health risks. Also, there is also a massive gap between the richest and poorest, meaning that some people have trouble maintaining a proper standard of living. On Average, the life expectancy of a Dutch is 81.9 years.
