15. King Fahd Causeway, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain
This massive causeway can be seen from afar and it is a majestic series of bridges. It is a long bridge that connects Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. One of the things to do in Bahrain is to drive along the causeway. There is a McDonald’s station at the Bahrain side which you have to try – it is highly recommended.
The dream to create a causeway started in 1954 but was only given attention in 1965. The two countries had to assess the costs of such causeway and in 1981; there was an agreement to begin the construction.
